A joint venture between Balfour Beatty and Gammon Construction will create hundreds of jobs thanks to a new contract win in Hong Kong.
The joint venture will construct an all-weather water park at Tai Shue Wan that will be open all year round.
At a cost of approximately £200 million, the development will create 750 jobs at the peak of construction, on behalf of the client, Ocean Park Corporation.
Work on the 693,000sq ft site will see the erection of a main building along with its fit out and the installation of all associated attractions – both indoor and outdoor.
Mechanical and electrical services installation and other work to service the building will support all specialist systems in the water park.
Thomas Ho, Gammon Construction Chief Executive, is looking forward to working on such an exciting development.
“We are pleased to have secured this exciting development, where our expert capabilities and experienced team provides our client with the skilled partner they need to safely deliver complex projects.”
The building will feature extensive glass walling, ensuring the water park benefits from the stunning view of the South China Sea.
